Hotel
Au bon Accueil is situated in a very beautiful area; opposite one of France largest
natural parcs, the Parc des Ecrins.
You can walk endlessly in this parc, even for a few days by sleeping in gites
de France at night.
The most practiced hike is the 1 ½ hours walk up to Lake Lauvitel; a lake
btween 2 mountaintops.
Flora and fauna is ofcourse very well presented here. With a bit of luck you can
feed the big marmottes.
On the other side of the hotel runs the Veneon, a little mountainstream what gives
our valley it's name. The melting icewater runs through it.
In
summer temperatures are quite nice. In daytime it may be very hot, although climbing
the mountains it will be colder, but at night it's nicely cool.
The nights can be so clear you'll be amazed by the amount of stars you see!
In winter temperatures can be very changeable.
We do have snow surrounding the hotel, but luckily the road is kept well cleared.
At 3 km the tiny little village of Venosc is defenitely worth a visit.
You can find some nice little stores where they still cut wood, work on leather,
make honey and cheeses etc.
The
hotel is on the road to la Berarde, a climbers paradise up in the mountains, at
another side of the Parc des Ecrins.
It is truly one of the most beautiful roads in the whole area( although small
and steep!).
During the seasons you can visit Les 2 Alpes easily; at 3 km is the skilift
up.
Les 2 Alpes is a nice skivillage, firstly built in the fifties, and misses out
on the modern flats.
Les 2 Alpes has a lot of terraces and restaurants; in the summer as well as the
winter season it's a lively village with a lot of things to do.
Some
activities in summer;
- 3 swimmingpools nearby
- ski in Les 2 Alpes
- rafting; family raft and the real thing
- bungi jump; in 2 Alpes out of a skilift, and from a bridge on 1 hour drive away
